Cutie-Pie
 

Joel Stringer eyed the little creature with some slight disapproval. "You really think it's cute?"

Abby cuddled it closer, the creature snuggling up to her warmth.

"Connor says it's a Leptocyon," she said.

"And?" Stringer was still giving it a side-eye.

"It means 'slender dog'. One of the earliest canines." She frowned at him. " You have to admit it's friendly."

"Yeah, until it turns on you and bites," he replied bitterly, staring at the scar on his wrist left behind from a close encounter with a prehistoric rodent.

Connor reached out and scritched it behind the ears. "It's adorable."
